I’m Laura Matikainen, a Finnish animator and video maker based in Antwerp, Belgium.
I help musicians transform their music into animated stories.

Music carries powerful emotion. My work translates that energy into visual form.
I build playful, physical, and slightly strange worlds using experimental materials and handcrafted techniques.
Animated music videos and short looping films are at the core of my practice.
